When I went to a Catholic Church in Goa, India they were playing this song and singing it in the local Goa language. The Melody is in fact a traditional Indian one from the Assam region of India. The words were written by an Indian pastor. Although there is some dispute about whether that pastor was Simon Marak or Sandar Sandhu Singh. I mean, like come on. Singh is the perfect name for hymn writer.
